Had enough of their values?

Let's start by saying what we've had enough of.

I've had enough of the Bush administration's stunning abuses of power.

I'm really sick of watching everything I believe in being systematically demantled: the right to a fair trial, separation of church and state, a woman's right to choose, our right to privacy, basic human rights ... the list goes on and on.

I'm so tired of their "deny, deny, deny" cover-up mentality and even more frustrated by how effective that strategy has been.

Enough!

Now it's your turn. What have you had enough of? See others' responses in the Had Enough? group.

I would love to write an entry on "Had enough?" I have had enough of many things. As far as I can tell, however, the only thing I can do is comment. I may be slow, but, I see no tab to post a blog in this section after having been asked to do so. Whats up with that?

Cover ups and Lies
By John Kraus Oct 7th 2006 at 2:14 pm EDT
A new TIME poll conducted this week among 1,002 randomly-selected voting-age Americans found that:

Two-thirds of Americans aware of the lurid e-mails set to congressional pages by a G.O.P congressman believe Republican leaders tried to cover up the scandal.

Almost two-thirds (65%) of respondents disapprove of President Bush's handling of the war, while 54% believe he "deliberately misled" Americans in making his case for war — a figure that has increased by 6 points over the past year.

Not going to take it anymore
By Lou Kaye Oct 9th 2006 at 12:39 am EDT
Saying we've had enough sometimes isn't enough. For years the Republicans have beaten up on the Democrats, calling them appeasers with failed compromises and the party of "cut and run". They're right, because in an effort to work with Republicans and unite the country, Democrats have played soft-ball in a hard-ball game. We have been appeasing the Republicans and compromising our own values in the process.
Seeing Clinton stand up against the right-wing smears and at the same time admitting to mistakes was just the beginning.
We can't let the right belittle or stigmatize well-placed enthusiasm like they did with Howard Dean. We should not be ashamed of anger toward those who are wrecking our country.
Democrats need to fight back!

You absolutely right. Just saying what we've had enough of isn't enough, but it's a first step. First we need to identify the problem before we can arrive at the appropriate action to take.

And I agree. The Democrats' unwillingness to own it's beliefs unapologetically is very frustrating.

Not Had Enough Voters
By Blurondo Oct 9th 2006 at 7:04 pm EDT
I've had enough of people not voting. The largest block of voters are those with the basic, good sense core values that most everyone agrees on. The block of voters that represents "the common good". This is the group that has been out maneuvered by the fringe on the left and on the right. This core group is not being paid attention to because they feel disenfranchised. All the attention and all the money in the campaigns is focused on the fringe issues, the over the top emotional issues that have almost nothing to do with our everyday lives.
If middle America would vote, they would drive the wing nuts out of office because the core group won't vote for them.
They can have their way with the politicians if only they would vote.
I've had it with people who don't vote.

p.s.We need to make voting much easier; the elections should take place on one weekday and one weekend day; we should allow internet voting. The current rules were set up in the horse and buggy days, before people were working two jobs, seven days a week. Let's make it as easy as possible for that great core group to express their beliefs.
