Class. Here we have two cable television personalities interviewing public officials. Exhibit A: Rachel Maddow. Exhibit B: Bill O’Reilly. Watch and listen carefully for differences in their journalistic style, they may be hard to miss. Note how each handles differences in opinion from their guest.

A Lesson in Omission
By Thomas Beach Jun 13th 2009 at 12:44 pm EDT (Updated Jun 13th 2009 at 12:44 pm EDT)
Conspicuously absent from Cody's set-up is an inconvenient truth that unlike Mr. O'Reilly, Ms. Maddow as well as Mr. Olbermann, never ever have a guest on their program which disagrees with them. Instead, they load up on far left wing zealots who espouse the same claptrap as the host. So naturally you will experience a dissimilar method of interviewing. This is to be expected however, as lefties are intollerant of alternate points of view and the political discourse of same. O'Reilly chooses to engage the opposition in heated debate, therby providing it's viewers with both sides of any issue addressed. This, I would assume, as opposed to the namby pamby pandering of MSNBC programming, would account for the thrashing meted out monthly by FoxNews to MSNBC via the ratings.
